Doomy - sorry to hear the site is suffering (its done well considering it was set up in 2007?). I hosted WDG with 1&1 as well (originally) and know all too well the limits of the forum software.

I'm still in the NuB steam group if anyone wants to give me a shout! Hope you are all well.

Currently playing Xcom2, various steam games and Armoured Warefare (worth a look btw - free to play).

Don't worry Kat, I knew you were below our minimum age, but you were always one of the more mature members and I knew your dad would keep you in line. Wink
He's good at keeping me in line too Wink

Firstly, I am devastated by this news. It is always sad when something great and good comes to an end, and even WDG will have a day like this to contend with at some point.

I'd like to say a big personal thank you to all the NuBs I've had the pleasure of knowing and playing online with. You're all awesome and I hope to still catch some of you in a game of TF2 sometime. You've made TF2 fun and I'd have stopped playing ages ago without good people such as yourselves.

You have always been great allies and WDG was even founded by ex-NuB members. It was your clan members that helped us get going and it was never forgotten.

A big shout of thanks to Stu - who helped me when I was WDG leader. We had long chats about server config, game issues and admin tools etc.. your help is much appreciated mate. <3

If the clan wants to get going again, then that would be awesome. If I can help, you know where I am - please shout. As for servers, well, maybe Doomy could chat to the current WDG leadership about setting up a NuB server on the WDG dedicated box. I can't say this would be a dead cert as I'm no longer clan leader, but I'm sure that WDG would always chat with Stu about it if he wanted.

You should all be extremely proud of yourselves and what was achieved here. THANK YOU

Cheers! Whipping solly here I come!

Wait that sounded dodgy. Undecided
I can confirm that I was "whipped solidly" by Fluffy the other night..... in fact, there was a section of the game where he ran round whipping friendlies AND enemies alike ...... Cheesy Cheesy

White list maybe Stu? I recall pure being on when I used to admin the server... but I may be wrong.

BTW. I hereby challenge the Doomwolf leetness on instant spawn 2Fort... see how long I could bear it Cheesy

I've got a similar thread going on WDG forum, will try and get a range of dates sorted so you guys can vote as well.

Everyone I've spoken to says that 3 matches in one week might be a bit much, so we'll probably space them out more. Also, xmas is usually busy for folks so we'll try to organise in the new year.

The format is a couple of WDG vs NuB friendlies, then a nice mix up of clan members for a final friendly Wink

Really liked Cheesy
12  General Category / General Discussion / Re: How about organizing a NuB Lan? on: September 26, 2010, 04:32:36 PM
I think WDG have done something similar, so it would be interesting to find out how they did it.

Summer would definitely be best given that a lot of members are in school/college/uni etc. What I don't have a good knowledge of is the geographical spread of NuB members to determine a central location, although I guess the Midlands would be pretty central with good transport links.
We met up at Insomnia 40 (i40) - the event was at Newbury Racecource and was organised by Multiplay. No real organisation behind it for us Cheesy

Eggs are cheap these days, don't accept "payment in kind" Doomy!

Besides, you also know where he's been!

I'd have a date with her. She wears rubber! Nuff said Wink

Sadly you'd get that "burning sensation" afterwards, but hey, that's normal isn't it? Cheesy
